A shocking new video captures a group of vigilantes stepping in to help a young woman being harassed at a subway station in Brooklyn.
Fredrik Marshall, a 42-year-old stranger to the 20-year-old victim, reportedly chased her down the Manhattan-bound J Train platform at Norwood Avenue, Cypress Hills, around 9 AM on Sunday.
In the footage shared by TikTok user @nicabori5, the woman, dressed in white, is seen being manhandled as she attempts to escape.
The woman started shouting for help, prompting several men nearby to take notice.
“Let her go!” one of them shouted.
Despite their pleas, Marshall didn’t back off. He reportedly pushed her to the ground and continued to restrain her as she tried to break free again, according to police accounts.
It was the passersby who ultimately intervened, pulling the victim away from the attacker, police stated.
One of the rescuers shouted, “I’m going to make you pay!” as they seemed to confront Marshall on the platform.
Their efforts allowed the visibly shaken victim to escape, and she was later seen crying on the phone with her mother as she reached the other side of the platform.
As they retreated, one of the bystanders was heard exclaiming, “Don’t mess with people like that!”
The woman received on-site medical treatment for shoulder pain and minor injuries to her stomach and arms, as noted by the EMS and police.
Meanwhile, Marshall was arrested at the scene, where officers discovered he was carrying a knife and a blackjack.
He faces charges of third-degree assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree attempted assault, and second-degree harassment.
According to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office, while Marshall had no prior arrests, he was released under supervision following his arrest the next day.
