Vince McMahon Pays Tribute to Hulk Hogan
Vince McMahon, a well-known figure in wrestling, has shared a touching tribute to Hulk Hogan following his passing.
On Thursday, he expressed on X, “The world has lost its treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE superstar of all time, a man loved and admired all over the world. He was the pioneer of the first performer to transition from a wrestling star to a global phenomenon.”
McMahon highlighted Hogan’s exceptional determination and drive for success, calling them key to his status as a legendary performer.
“He leaves us with one of his favorite sayings: ‘Train, take your vitamins, and say your prayers.’ Today, we pray for him,” McMahon added.
His remarks followed similar sentiments shared by other wrestling icons such as Ric Flair, Undertaker, Kevin Nash, and Sting.
Hogan, who passed away at the age of 71, had a long and complex relationship with McMahon, who co-founded modern WWE along with his wife Linda. Despite their ups and downs, McMahon played a crucial role in Hogan’s rise to fame in the 1980s, recruiting him to WWF in 1984 and helping him become a household name.
However, their relationship wasn’t without conflict. The two had a fallout in 1993 when Hogan accused McMahon of distributing performance-enhancing drugs during a trial. Later on, Hogan faced a temporary ban from WWE after his past racist comments came to light in 2015, though he eventually made a return.
McMahon, now 79, is also navigating his own controversies. In January 2024, a former WWE employee, Janelle Grant, alleged that he sexually assaulted and trafficked her. He has denied the allegations but stepped down from his position with TKO Group Holdings after the lawsuit was filed.
