There’s something special about these fries!
Bel-Fries, a shop on the Lower East Side, is reintroducing its famed $10 caviar fries after their viral success last month, where they garnered about 3 million views online shortly after their launch in September.
Owner Annalee Schlossberg mentioned to a local publication that the initial run attracted long lines, but they observed a gap in the market—few places serve something as opulent as caviar at such an accessible price.
“But honestly, we didn’t think it would go that viral,” she added.
New Yorkers have raved about the Belgian fries topped with sour cream, green onions, and, of course, caviar. They’ll be back for just a short period starting October 22nd.
“What I appreciate is the blend of fancy and casual,” I saw someone comment on the shop’s Instagram. Another user chimed in, “And $10! That’s such a great deal!”
Schlossberg, who’s 26, explained that they can keep prices low since the fries are served in smaller “hors d’oeuvre” portions rather than typical large servings.
Located on Ludlow Street, this artisan fry spot is becoming known for its diverse range of 16 dipping sauces, including unique flavors like roasted garlic aioli and smoky chipotle. Schlossberg, a native of Manhattan, claims they’re the first to offer caviar fries.
“At Bel-Fries, we always try to elevate something simple into a luxury experience—like designer fries. That’s what we represent,” she said.
“Caviar fries felt like a natural fit. They’re luxurious yet fun, adding a European flair that really matches the vibe we’re going for.”
However, she noted that the caviar fries aren’t yet a permanent menu item, as their limited nature adds to their allure.
“Typically, limited-time offerings don’t do well because people feel pressured to try them before they go. If it’s always available, there’s no rush… We want folks to take notice.”
