Visas of foreigners canceled due to inappropriate comments about Charlie Kirk

The U.S. State Department announced on Tuesday that it has no obligation to accommodate foreign nationals who express intentions to harm Americans. This statement followed the revocation of visas for six individuals who made inflammatory remarks regarding the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

According to the department, the Trump administration intends to respond to those who appeared to celebrate Kirk’s death.

The State Department mentioned, “We are actively identifying visa holders who celebrated the reprehensible assassination of Charlie Kirk.” They emphasized that @POTUS and @SecRubio will take measures to safeguard U.S. borders and people by enforcing existing immigration laws.

“Foreigners who exploit American hospitality to celebrate the assassination of our citizens will be excluded,” the statement added.

One individual whose visa was revoked was an unnamed Argentine national, who claimed that Kirk “dedicated his life to spreading racist, xenophobic and misogynistic rhetoric” and stated he deserved to “burn in hell.” Another South African mocked those mourning Kirk, suggesting they were “hurt that a racist rally ended in attempted martyrdom” and accused Kirk of fueling a white supremacist movement.

A Mexican national reflected, saying Kirk “died as a racist, he died as a misogynist,” adding their perspective that “some people deserve to die.” A German national echoed criticism, remarking that “Democrats don’t complain when fascists die” and suggested that Kirk inspired rallies celebrated in his memory.

  • Law enforcement has named Tyler Robinson, 22, as the suspect accused of killing Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10.
  • Robinson faces charges of aggravated murder, felony discharging of a firearm resulting in serious injury, and obstruction of justice.
  • Authorities noted that Robinson was living with a transgender roommate, whose communication aided in his capture.
  • Kirk, 31, co-founder of Turning Point USA, was shot in the neck while attending an event for his American comeback tour.
  • President Trump is among those calling for the death penalty for Robinson.
  • Kirk’s body was transported from Utah to Arizona by Air Force Flight No. 2, accompanied by Vice President J.D. Vance, and from there taken to a mortuary in Phoenix.
  • His funeral, which President Trump has indicated he will attend, is scheduled for September 21 at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals.
  • Kirk is survived by a wife and two young children.

“Charlie Kirk was Abu’s son and died according to his own rules,” remarked a Paraguayan national.

The State Department concluded each case listed with a formal “visa revocation.”

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau expressed that “foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country.” He expressed frustration over people glorifying or downplaying the incident on social media and mentioned that consular staff have been instructed to take appropriate actions in such cases. “Please, feel free to alert me to such comments from foreign nationals so that @StateDept can safeguard the American public,” he added.
