Visitors to New York City experienced a memorable moment on Friday night as they strolled around Madison Square Garden, witnessing the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey in the famed venue.
“I really wish they had done this in Chicago,” remarked Charlie Kiley, a data analyst from Chicago, outside the iconic arena, where a digital sign boldly proclaimed “JUST & T MARRIED!”
“I felt like, you know, if I was in New York City, I couldn’t miss this,” he said, noting he was in town for Fourth of July celebrations.
Some tourists ventured from afar to see the secured garden. Meanwhile, inside, Swift and Kelsey celebrated their nuptials with over 1,000 guests, including a number of celebrities.
Tiffany Huang, 21, visiting from Taiwan with her friend Jason Lee, sent warm wishes to the couple. “I hope they have a blessed life together,” Huang stated, adding her desire for their “life to be filled with love.”
“I really admire her songwriting,” noted Lee, adding thoughts on the stories told in her songs.
Seeley Smith, 36, discovered the MSG buzz purely by chance while visiting from Minnesota with her mother. They stumbled upon the “JUST & T MARRIED!” sign while exploring Times Square.
“We were just sightseeing when we saw ‘Just Married’ and found out Taylor Swift was getting married,” she shared. “It’s pretty cool, even as a spontaneous wedding experience.”
Thadiel Saavedor, 30, from Miami, spent hours outside MSG, eager for a glimpse of his favorite artist. “I’m a huge fan,” he expressed. “I really connect with the music and the lyrics.”
