Voice Actor Jonathan Joss Shot Dead in Texas

Jonathan Joss, known for his work as a voice actor on “King of the Hill,” was fatally shot in Texas following a confrontation with a neighbor.

Police arrived at a home in San Antonio around 7 PM on Sunday after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered Joss, 59, near the roadside with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite attempts by first responders to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect has been identified as Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, 56, who has since been arrested and charged in connection with Joss’s murder.

Reports indicate that Joss and Ceja, who lived just two doors apart, had been involved in a heated dispute that escalated to violence. It was noted that the two had a history of “verbal and physical battles.”

Tristan Caen de Gonzalez, Joss’s husband, stated to a news outlet that before the shooting, Joss suffered “violent homophobic slander.” He expressed that Joss was killed by someone who could not accept the love between two men.

However, police have asserted that there is currently no evidence to support claims that Joss’s murder was a hate crime linked to his sexual orientation. They emphasized that all allegations have been taken seriously, and investigations will continue.

Joss was particularly recognized for voicing John Red Corn on “King of the Hill,” which aired from 1997 until 2009. Sources confirm that he had recently completed recordings for a reboot of the series.

Joss’s contributions to the industry were acknowledged by several celebrities. Chris Pratt, a co-star from “Parks and Recreation,” remembered him fondly, expressing his sorrow over Joss’s passing. Fellow actor Nick Offerman referred to the situation as a “horrifying tragedy,” sharing that the cast had been in communication about their grief.

Overall, Joss leaves behind an impressive legacy, with numerous voice credits to his name, including roles in “Parks and Recreation,” “Tulsa King,” and “Ray Donovan.”
