Volkswagen to recall more than 60,000 electric cars over display issue

Volkswagen is reminiscing about over 60,000 US cars, increasing the risk of crashes, in response to the inability to see the position of gear that could cause the vehicle to roll over if the parking brake is not engaged.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made an announcement on Saturday, affecting 60,490 electric vehicles.

The affected vehicles include the specific 2021-2023 Volkswagen ID.4 and the 2022-2023 Audi Q4 E-Tron and Q4 E-Tron Sportback Cars, the NHTSA said.

This issue is linked to a software problem that prevents the position of the gear from being displayed correctly.

Volkswagen is working to notify the vehicle owner and fix the issue.

The recall comes after Volkswagen issued another recall last month affecting around 30,000 cars. That recall mainly influenced the Audi Q3 and several Volkswagen Tiguan and Arteon cars.
