Voter ID Means Protecting America

Rep. Chip Roy Advocates for Voter ID on “The Ingraham Angle”

On a recent episode of FNC’s “The Ingraham Angle,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) pushed for the implementation of voter identification measures to enhance election integrity and minimize the risk of voter fraud.

The Texas Republican, who is also a candidate for Texas attorney general, stated that enforcing voter ID is essential to “save America.”

Host Laura Ingraham challenged this perspective, saying, “The Democrats’ argument, if it can even be called that, suggests there’s little to no voter fraud. They claim this is extremely rare. Consequently, actions like requiring proof of citizenship to vote or cleaning the voter rolls are perceived as tactics to complicate the voting process. What’s your take?”

Roy replied, “Well, Laura, I’m glad to be here. The real threat to our elections comes from those who don’t take the process seriously. There are individuals who idolize President Trump, and they could jeopardize the integrity of the election by participating without proper voter ID.”

He further remarked, “The same issues we see in Minneapolis illustrate the broader problem. The fraud is alarming, and this is just a small portion of what’s happening nationwide. If they can manipulate the system in care facilities, what’s to stop them from doing the same with ballots? Clearly, there’s a deliberate involvement here. The concern from the Democrats about ICE at polling places indicates their desire to keep law enforcement away.”

Roy continued to discuss legislation, mentioning the SAVE Act he introduced two years ago. “Mike Lee presented this in the Senate. It mandates voter identification, ensuring that individuals must prove their citizenship to register. We need to streamline the voter rolls because many aren’t aware that Arizona has two systems for voting. Federal law doesn’t require proof of citizenship or voter ID for federal elections, only for state ones. I believe Texas should be able to enforce these laws. Current federal guidelines fall short, and we need to push for a true federal voter ID requirement.”
