Cliff Maloney, head of Pennsylvania Chase, said during a television appearance that voter registration and mail-in ballot request data showed former President Donald Trump had an advantage in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania. Breitbart News Saturday.
Maloney, whose job is to track ballots in the Keystone State and ensure that less-willing Republicans turn out to vote, explained what's happening in Pennsylvania and what it means in the grand scheme of things in the race for the White House.
Breitbart News Saturday Moderator and Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle explained that while Democrats have requested more mail-in ballots than Republicans in the state, the numbers are down significantly compared to 2020. Compared to 2020, there have been 250,000 more ballot requests for Republicans and fewer ballot requests for Democrats at this point in the race.
“With 50 days until the election, they [Democrats] “If you compare the decline in Republican support to the decline in Democratic support, we're down 250,000 now compared to 2020. I'm much happier with where we are. And Matt, I just want to remind our listeners, we only lost this state by 80,000 votes,” Maloney said, with Boyle noting that this margin alone was “three times the margin of the 2020 election.”
“That's exactly right,” Maloney said, “so when we look at these numbers that we're seeing, we're seeing an increase of 250,000 in terms of mail-in applications.”
But Maloney said that doesn't even include another harsh reality: the voter registration gap between Republicans and Democrats is narrowing.
“Don't forget about registration. In 2020, we were 700,000 short of registered Democrats. Now we're at about 300,000,” he said. “We cut that in half. So look at the mail-in claims and the registrations. To me, I'm optimistic. It's much better to drive the Trump train than to try to figure out how to get Kamala back into this race, because in my opinion, it's all about momentum. And forget the polls. You know, forget all the people that the left-wing pundits want to scream about… Follow the numbers. Mail-in claims and registrations show that Trump is currently ahead in Pennsylvania,” he said, before adding this important note: “If we can just get to the polls and actually get people to vote.”

Given those numbers, Maloney's group is working to motivate voters, especially in light of the fact that 141,000 Republicans who requested mail-in ballots in 2020 did not submit them.
“Compared to the fact that we lost 80,000 votes, I think, yeah, we have to solve that problem anyway,” he said, noting that the organization has 120 full-time vote trackers.
“We're going to Republicans who are unlikely to vote and asking them if they want to request a mail-in ballot. We're not going to people who are going to vote on Election Day, those are people who are likely to vote. We're going to people who happen to be Republicans who are unlikely to vote and asking them to request one,” he said, explaining that once the ballots are distributed, they will change their strategy to go to voters who are aligned with them and get them to commit to receiving their ballots.
He added that low propensity voters are those who have voted in two or fewer of the past four general elections in Pennsylvania. Maloney said it's important for Republicans, who tend to vote in person on Election Day, to fight to close the gap in the state and give Trump a victory, noting that Republicans are working legally “to the extent that we can, within the bounds of the law, with the Republican National Committee, the Pennsylvania Republican Party and all the organizations and campaigns that we can legally work with in the state.”
“So I think this is the first time we've seen any real synergy coming from the Republican Party,” he added.
