Voters Also Gave the Senate a ‘Mandate’ for ‘Change’

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) said on Fox News Channel's “The Ingraham Angle” that voters not only gave President-elect Donald Trump a mandate, they also gave a mandate to the U.S. Senate. .

Commenting on the Senate leadership vote, moderator Laura Ingraham said: “Voting will be held in secret. Why?

“First of all, Laura, you said it well. They are secrets because the leader chooses to do so. The leader who is in office as we speak, that is Mitch McConnell. I'd like to get the vote closer to January 1st anyway, but I'm the leader. But, Laura, we were ordered to make a change last week. Not only as the President of the United States, we don't have time, as you just said, we don't have time. You know, we need to get different people in the Senate. 20% He has a decent approval rating, but he's not the ball rolling with the meat cleaver. So to give President Trump a chance to do different things, like what he's trying to do, different strategies, different ideas, different communications. He had to hire people with skills. He needed people to work with him. I know Rick Scott. He's a businessman. He's been out there before. He's as business as President Trump. They can communicate. That's why I vote for Rick Scott.”

He added, “There's three people running. That's for sure, no one's going to get 27 votes. And there's going to be a runoff. So somebody's going to be eliminated. So Rick and Cornyn probably second and third. And whoever comes in second place against Tune will probably have a chance to win against Tune at the end of the day. I'm voting for Alabama. Coach, we voted for change. We don't want the same type of Senate we had in the past. Let's do something different. If we don't do something now, we won't have another chance. They're exactly right.”
