Here’s what Americans want to hear from their leaders in Thursday night’s presidential debate.
First, they
do not They only want to hear what they want to hear. They don’t want to hear about “Russiagate.” They don’t want to hear about a rigged election or January 6th or, frankly, abortion in either direction. They don’t want to find out about Donald Trump’s rigged trial or the corruption of the Department of Justice regarding Hunter Biden. They don’t want to hear about “Drag Queen Story Hour” or fairness. They don’t want to hear about global warming, especially since it’s so far at the bottom of Americans’ list of concerns.
People want answers. They want an actual plan they can be a part of and understand. They want leaders.
They don’t want to hear about COVID-19, especially when it’s used as an excuse to excuse the inflation and job shortages that are costing Americans. Anyone who tries to argue that our borders are secure, that our country is doing well, that jobs are plentiful, that our economy is booming, that fuel is cheap and food is affordable, is going to lose! Maybe not tonight, but they’re going to lose in the fall. That message is going to lose.
People no longer trust the system. They no longer believe that the system is rigged in their favor. They no longer trust politicians of both parties. And they certainly don’t trust CNN’s Jake Tapper or the media in general. Full trust in the American government is a thing of the past.
People don’t believe the false scare stories anymore. Why? Because there is actually enough to be afraid of. And Americans are afraid.
Fair trading
What Americans want to know is: Who is going to protect my job? Who is going to make sure this crazy inflation doesn’t continue and actually goes down? They don’t care what the Federal Reserve or Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen thinks. They care that they have to choose between food and fuel!
Americans don’t want to choose between paying rent and owning a car. They can’t afford to buy a new home. They can’t afford to take out a loan or pay 30% interest on their already maxed out credit cards. All they care about is the elite getting rich and the banks getting bailed out without any responsibility. People want answers. They want an actual plan they can be a part of and understand. They want leaders.
Average Americans don’t seem to be getting a fair shake. Average Americans are the ones who create 70% of all jobs during recessions and tough times. They are the small business owners who have always been the backbone of job creation. Yet they watch their leaders paint themselves into a corner while bailing out larger corporations. Home Depot is allowed to make profits and stay open during the pandemic, while the local hardware store is deemed a danger to everyone’s health.
What game are we playing? Because the American people feel like we’re losing.
The American people have seen what it looks like to reinvent the police. What the American people want to know in Thursday’s debate is who will make our streets safe again. Crime is worse than I’ve ever seen it. The American people want safe and clean streets. Is it too much to ask of our leaders?
For the first time in my lifetime, Americans are deeply concerned about their immediate future.
Americans have seen how the reimagining of schools has affected our children. As parents, we want schools that teach our children reading, writing, math, science, writing, and practical skills, not the “nuts and bolts of protest.”
Our children need quality education, not indoctrination camps that label them as gay, not gay, non-binary, or one of many other gender identities. The main concern of American parents is their children’s future. If we continue down this path, I am worried about the future of my children. The situation is dire and people know it. They are asking, “Who will stop this madness?”
Because I love my country
Remember, Biden won the 2020 election because he said, “Isn’t this crazy?” People voted for him because he campaigned as the “old, safe guy.” What was he going to do?
Well, we’ve seen what he did. Will our kids have an education? Is it even worth it? Will my kids have a home? Will my kids inherit my home? Will they have food or grow food?
People worry that this is the end of the country that most of us love and want to save. We may disagree on the problems and the solutions, but I believe most people love America.
Americans want solutions at the border. They’re worried about war. Will my children be sent to war by politicians and global elites I don’t even believe in? The federal government has already spent all of our children’s money and can’t seem to keep track of it. Are we seriously talking the hard way when nuclear war is an option not just for one country but for multiple countries?
When it comes to elections, Americans have historically worried about the distant future — the future of their children and grandchildren. For the first time in my life, Americans are deeply concerned about their near future: Will our kids make it through school? Will our spouse make it after a trip to the gas station? Will we have any money left? Will we be able to keep our house or apartment?
This time, no slogan will solve the problems facing the American people — only leadership will do it.
For the first time in our lives, we are starting to look at the Bill of Rights in a different way. Take the right to keep and bear arms. This has always been a theoretical argument in many ways. But it is no longer theoretical. Here’s why: We often see on TV people trapped in their cars surrounded by Antifa or Hamas supporters, and they call 911 and no help comes. But they pray to God and protect themselves.
Our wives, daughters and sons sometimes need to get gas at night, and when did it become normal to look over our shoulders to see if someone is spying on us?
Bad guys have guns, but they don’t come through the legitimate gun stores that the government is trying to suppress. The police are no longer allowed to police them, and if they do, the district attorneys let the criminals go free.
Have I already lost?
If our government won’t stop the gangsters and terrorists from various countries who are known to cross our southern border, if our government won’t ignore rioters and arsonists and stop calling hardworking taxpaying Americans who struggle to buy a loaf of bread “bigots,” then we may have already lost our country.
People want to know why our veterans are on the streets and why illegal aliens are staying in hotels. They want to know why law enforcement officers and district attorneys aren’t arresting and prosecuting criminals, going after gangs and illegal firearms. People want to know why they can’t pay for food, gas, rent, insurance, electricity or medical bills. This time, no slogan will work to make the problems facing the American people go away. Only leadership will make it happen.
We need leaders at the podium on Thursday who actually see things. they.
Americans don’t care about the president’s private life. They don’t care about his past. They need a leader who understands what their life is like. They don’t need someone to tell them how bad it is. They want to hear, “I get it. I get you. I know the problems. And I’m going to fix them.”
Whoever has the courage to be a leader, a true leader, for the American people will be the winner in Thursday night’s debate.
