Voters share top running mate choices for Trump if elected: ‘It has to be someone younger’

New Hampshire voters shared who they want as former President Trump's running mate in the 2024 election.

“It has to be someone younger, someone younger,” Kate, from Maine, told Fox News. “He sold it. [President] Biden is already old. Second place is really important in this election.”

Biden, 81, is the oldest sitting president, previously held by Trump, 77.

Eileen, from Massachusetts, said of President Trump's running mate: “It doesn't really matter to me, but as long as it's someone who supports the main person, that's the most important thing.”

But Michael, from Arkansas, said the future president needs “the Lord God” by his side.

“Our president is going to need our Lord God,” Michael said. “He's going to fight another battle to rebuild our country. It's over.”

Some voters were more decisive about their running mate. Diane, a New Hampshire voter, said she expects Trump to choose his rival, former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley.

“I think she can balance it out.” [Trump]Diane said. “She will make up for his insanity.”

However, President Trump said it was unlikely that the former United Nations ambassador would be his running mate.

“She's not the president's correspondent,” Trump said Friday at a New Hampshire rally. “If I say that now, it probably means she won't be elected vice president.”

Another New Hampshire voter, Gregg, said he expected New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, the chair of the House Republican Conference, to be Trump's running mate.

“She's his biggest supporter,” he said.

Earlier this month, during a Fox News town hall in Des Moines, Iowa, President Trump said he knew who he would choose. The short list of candidates includes Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio, Gov. Kristi Noem of North Dakota, and Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders of Arkansas. FOX Business reported.

But some voters just wanted someone other than Trump to win.

“I have no idea,” said Brian from New Hampshire. “If he comes in, God help us.”
