Harris used the post Tell X, “The number one cause of death for children in America is gun violence, not some disease or traffic accident.”

She made this same claim in July 2023, and Breitbart News fact-checked the claim, stating that according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) numbers, 0-17 years old in 2020 The number of firearm-related deaths among children was 2,281; She had 2,503 motor vehicle deaths for the same age group.

Additionally, CDC statistics show that children are 27 times more likely to die in a motor vehicle accident than a gun accident, and children are 10 times more likely to die from accidental suffocation than to die from a gun accident.

Nevertheless, Harris reasserted himself and “made the call” the day after the Chiefs shooting.[ed] We’re asking Congress and state legislators to have the courage to pass common-sense gun safety laws. ”
