Walmart rolls back DEI policies after Robby Starbuck pressure

Walmart is making major changes to its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies, becoming the latest in a growing list of major companies to discontinue so-called “woke” initiatives.

Walmart clarified that these changes have been in the works for several years and were not the result of conversations with Starbucks.

Walmart confirmed to FOX Business that it plans to change the way it monitors products in its marketplace and reviews grants.

The company said some products that violated its policies, such as chest binders (products designed to flatten the chest), were removed when they were marketed to children.

The company also confirmed that it will review all subsidies, particularly for community events, to promote a suitable environment for children. However, Walmart will continue to support Pride celebrations.

The company also decided not to extend the Center for Racial Equity, which it launched as a five-year initiative in 2020, and will completely eliminate the terms “LatinX” and even “DEI” in its official communications. Instead, focus on the word “belonging” for all employees and customers.
