Elon Musk, an advisor to tech billionaire and President Trump, warned that an individual who leaked “malicious and false information” to a news outlet will be “discovered” and charged.
Musk, whose company has a contract with the Department of Defense, issued a warning after the New York Times reported that SpaceX executives were set to be briefed on a US military plan to prepare for a war with China.“The New York Times is pure propaganda and we look forward to prosecuting the Pentagon people who have leaked malicious and false information to the NYT. They will be found.”
Trump also criticized the Times article, saying it was “one of the worst and most inaccurate newspapers anywhere in the world.”Later, Trump stated that his administration would not share details of DOD’s plans for a potential conflict with China, citing a business deal for masks.“I don’t want to show it to anyone. You’re talking about a potential war with China,” Trump told a journalist. “I don’t want anyone to see a potential war with China, but if we did, we’re very good at handling it.”
