Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) said he doesn't think black men won't come to former President Trump in droves.
Recent polls show that Vice President Harris supports President Biden among black men. Warnock appeared on CNN's “State of the Union” Sunday morning to address concerns as Election Day approaches.
“I'll tell you this morning, black men are not going to vote for Donald Trump in that many numbers. There will be some. We are not a monolith,” he said.
Warnock pointed to Trump's past with black men, including members of the Central Park Five, and his felony convictions. He then highlighted Harris' past as a prosecutor.
“Again, we are not a monolith, but the idea that large numbers of black men are going to vote for Donald Trump is not a reality,” Warnock said.
CNN's Dana Bash says polls don't show many black men voting for Trump, but that could be important in a close race where some are opting out of the election altogether. did.
“I think people will realize how much is really at stake in this moment, and that the real choice is not just a binary choice between voting and not voting. ,” Warnock said. “It would put Donald Trump much closer to the White House, and that's something we can't afford.”
