An arrest warrant was issued due to suspected Tren de Aragua immigrant gang member who was cut off from custody in Chicago last week despite police believe they could continue to be detained in connection with the murder.
Fox News has exclusively reported Pedro Cormenales, 33, an illegal Venezuelan immigrant who already committed weapons charges against him when police cuffed him last week.
He is also suspected of inviting his ex-girlfriend and sexually assaulting him.

Chicago police said there could be a possible cause for Cormenales to detain for the murder of a Hispanic man, but ultimately the Cook County lawyers' office refused to refrain from the murder charge, explaining that they had “recommended reviews,” finding evidence and “uncooperative witnesses.”
Homeland Security also attempted to arrest him in an ice detainee in October to claim an attack on arms charges, but because of the sanctuary policy, Cook County refused to comply with detainees and Cormenales was released.
The immigration agent wanted to detain Cormenales, who illegally entered the United States in September 2022. He was deported by an immigration judge in November of that year, according to the DHS.

He went to Chicago, where he roamed freely, pleasing for a deportation ruling.
However, Fox News was able to confirm that an arrest warrant was issued against Colmenares, which was for the invitation and sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend in Chicago last October.
Court documents read that Cormenales' warrants were issued for two crimes: worsening of the trickery and worsening of sexual assault in crimes with firearms.

Cormenales is said to have been pulled up by a 27-year-old Hispanic woman in a car.
Police say he drove to another location on the west side of Chicago against her will.
Cormenales was ordered to appear in person before a judge on March 5th in Chicago. According to court documents, he was ordered to surrender his weapon and stay away from victims of domestic abuse, but no electronic surveillance was assigned.
