Was the Super Tuesday Facebook blackout a trial run?

It’s no coincidence that two of the world’s largest and most influential social media platforms went down on Super Tuesday, when presidential primaries were held in a third of the United States. Facebook and Instagram motivate and sway voters. Combined with Meta’s recent ban on “political posts,” it’s hard to believe that last week’s hours-long outage wasn’t part of his November test drive.

Social media has become the most important platform for politicians to promote their messages because of its almost unlimited reach. Presidential election years are the most important and lucrative years ever for social media companies. Hundreds of millions of dollars are at risk. That’s only true for political ads.

The past two presidential elections were marked by a series of fraudulent acts. The 2024 election year could be the worst year yet.

But advertising is not where the onslaught of money begins and ends. Think about all the news shows, podcasts, influencer posts, and the increase in content views as user interest peaked during an election year. Now think about the ads that are inserted into videos and influencer pages. Depending on the platform, revenue can easily reach billions of dollars.

Now, here comes the problem. In recent years, we have seen how Facebook and Twitter (now X) actively engaged in election interference and censorship. In fact, censorship is a marker of election interference, and we have seen conservative voices “shadowbanned” or restricted for a decade.

Election years are times when censorship becomes excessive. We’ve seen Twitter files exposing how the company worked with federal authorities, including the FBI and CDC, to suppress unfavorable opinions.

I’ve seen only prominent and conservative handles get banned for posts that “go against standards.”

We’ve seen even the smallest accounts get banned for posting opinions that go against the platform’s narrative.

We’ve seen and heard in Congressional testimony that Facebook’s “fact checkers” are simply opinion checkers, free to flag posts as they see fit.

I saw Facebook and Twitter being suppressed Hunter Biden’s laptop story It collapsed just before the 2020 election and undoubtedly would have hurt Joe Biden’s chances of winning a free and fair election.

All of this is classic election interference.

Recently, meta, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, issued a ban on “political content.” This is really puzzling, since the company didn’t clearly define what “political content” was or whether the ban extended to political ads. As the head of a publicly traded company, Mark Zuckerberg has a fiduciary responsibility to do what’s best for shareholders. Then he wouldn’t turn down hundreds of millions of dollars a year in political advertising, right? If he’s not a shareholder in Meta, then who does that benefit?

Election years give alternative social media platforms a chance to leverage their revenue potential. Some are better than others. In a move sure to alienate users, Gab, popular among some conservatives for its free speech, moved to a paid model without warning. Many users log in one day and find out they have to pay $9.99 a month to post photos, memes, graphics, or videos. Businesses will pay even more, starting at $99.99 and going up to $499.99 per month. Whether out of desperation or an attempt to take advantage of an election year, this move is risky and potentially fatal for Gab.

As cliche as it is, this is the most important election of our lifetimes. The past two presidential elections were marked by a series of fraudulent acts. The 2024 election year may be the worst yet, but it is all driven by corporate media, politicians, and Big Tech. The left is more desperate than ever and will do anything to prevent President Donald Trump from becoming president again. Big Tech social media is the biggest weapon and greatest asset in the left’s arsenal of deception.

When Americans’ First Amendment rights are suppressed, democracy is undermined and attacked. you We are under attack. Every thought Americans have can be influenced and their opinions swayed to fit Big Tech’s social media narrative. This is why I founded Wimkin social mediais a true alternative to Facebook with almost all the same features and offers true freedom of speech. We have defeated app store bans, cancellations by banks and infrastructure providers, and attacks from mainstream media. Even the House Select Committee on January 6th tried to contain us but failed. I hope you will join me and the millions of other patriots out there who understand that every moment you spend on Big Tech social media is a moment when your freedom is under attack. hoping.

Through awareness and truth, together we can take back our country.
