During a spate of mailbox robberies in Washington, D.C., thieves were caught on camera leaving unsolicited messages on surveillance video.
According to the video footage obtained by FOX5a thief was caught on camera stealing from residents’ mailboxes in a northwest D.C. neighborhood in recent footage.
The video showed the masked gunman speaking directly into Ring’s surveillance cameras.
“Daddy, I love you,” the thief can be seen saying on the video.

In the video, four thieves can be seen ransacking the mailbox of an apartment building.
Residents’ problems continue in the neighborhood.
“It’s frustrating. I feel like there’s no help. Even if it’s on video, I can’t call the police,” Adams Morgan told FOX 5.

“Fortunately, Amazon is very good at refunding you or shipping you another package,” Morgan said.

Investigators are offering a $100,000 reward for any information regarding the thefts. (Fox 5)
Postal inspectors told local media they were reviewing surveillance video.
