Deep Blue Washington State officials have launched a full-scale “investigation” alleging “harassment” of teenage high school students who refused to take court to transgender players on the opposing girls basketball team.
Submitted by the Foundation for Intolerance and Racism Complaint against the school of Teen Frances Staudt, a girl who plays for the Tumwater High School Girl's Basketball team.
In question, the refusal to play in the February 6 game, and her subsequent charges include Andi Rooks, one of the opposing team's players, a trans athlete, and her subsequent charges are accusations that the district moved to punish her position as a trans athlete.
Staudt says he asked Principal Zach Suderman and athletic director Jordan Magrath to either remove the male player or stop the game. However, Suderman pointed out that the state governing body for sports, the Association of Inter-Washington Governance Activities, has rules that allow students to participate under the gender of their choice. Staudt also says that Luke had “brutally” his teammates on the court during the match and provided a video to prove his point.
After stating her position, Tumwater School officials began an investigation into the girl, denounced “harassment,” “bullying” and “misconceptions” of visiting trans students.
The Staudt family rebutted by accusing Suderman of ridiculing the girl about her ideals. The family also says school officials threatened Stoast's brother to video the game.
Stoast also alleges that school staff harassed them after posting on their personal social media accounts about the issue. At one point, Luke's father allegedly sent a threatening text message to the Storst family.
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order banning trans athletes from playing as women in school sports. Still, it's in Washington state. Not made Moves to follow the president's new orders. The state has yet to say what methods and what to do, but in the meantime, authorities have been following current WIAA rules to allow transgender athletes to play girl sports under their chosen gender.
