Washington woman, Idaho fiancé may have fled to Mexico with missing 2-year-old Seraya Aung Harmon

Pullman police say a recent Washington State University graduate and her Idaho fiance may have fled to Mexico with missing 2-year-old Zelaya Aung Harmon.

Zelaya was last seen with her father, Aaron Aoun, 21, of Moscow, Idaho, on May 29. That same day, Aoun’s fiancee, Nadia Erica Cole, 21, was last seen at Seattle International Airport preparing to depart for a family trip to Italy, according to statements from police and Cole’s family.

“It was initially believed that Aoun had traveled to Montana because he had been seen in Moscow purchasing camping equipment and a Montana atlas,” police said. “However, further investigation determined that Aoun and Cole likely traveled to Mexico in a black 2014 Cadillac XTS with Idaho license plate 1L5147U.”

Authorities issued an arrest warrant for Aoun on June 5 for first-degree interference with custody for violating a court-ordered parenting plan. Zelaya was scheduled to be returned to her mother on June 3, police said.

Cole is not Zelaya’s mother, a private investigator for the family previously said.

Cole’s Instagram account shows she is engaged to Aoun in November 2023. Cole’s family released a statement following her disappearance.

The 21-year-old alumna was “on her way to celebrate a family trip to Italy that she and her mother had been diligently planning for over a year,” her parents added. But those happy plans turned into a nightmare when Nadia “left her luggage at the gate to go to the bathroom and never returned.”
