Elon Musk has become an enemy of the left because he rejects government censorship policies by prioritizing freedom of speech on his X platform.
Musk has now made even more enemies by “democratizing” X.
In an interview with Linda Yaccarino, Musk explained to the X CEO why journalists are especially infuriated by his blue checkmark policy reforms.

In the previous Twitter regime, the blue checkmark indicated a user’s credibility and prominence, but it was a false badge of honor given to “verified identities.” Now, under Musk’s ownership, the blue checkmark is simply “Your account has an active X-Premium subscription. [X’s] Eligibility Requirements.”
“It’s the same for everybody,” Musk told Yaccarino, but “what a lot of traditional journalists don’t like is being on the same platform as the public, they don’t like their opinions being on the same page as the public.”
“Yes, there are some media organisations that are not happy with the way you are promoting democracy, they think it is devaluing the badge. [check marks] Because they were differentiated,” Yaccarino asserted.
“I think it’s really important to elevate citizen journalism. I think it’s really important to hear the voices of the people. Not the filtered voices of the people, but the real voices of the people. Let the people choose the stories, let the people decide the truth. Don’t leave it up to five editors-in-chief of major publications,” Musk responded.

He explains that in an ideal world, we could rely on a “group of journalists” who are able to “make sense of the world” so that ordinary citizens could “vote properly” and be “aware of what’s going on in the world.”
But true journalism seems to be a thing of the past: journalists can no longer be trusted to report the facts.
“Unfortunately, the journalistic and media classes [our] “I can’t trust it anymore,” Dave said, which is why Musk is “democratizing” the X Platform.
