WATCH Jake Tapper’s facial expression he reads Biden quotes

CNN’s Jake Tapper, as one of the two modestors, sat in the front row at the first presidential debate, where Joe Biden delivered arguably the worst debate performance of any president in American history.

Since then, Tapper appears to have become hostile towards Joe Biden as he has woken up to the reality of the president’s declining cognitive abilities.

Dave Rubin As the anchor plays a clip of Biden reading out some of his latest remarks, the expression on his face makes it clear that trust in the president has indeed declined dramatically.

Tapper first brought up Biden’s phone interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” in which Biden said, “How can I actually guarantee that I’ll be able to get out there on my way to work tomorrow? Maybe I was wrong in thinking that I’m too old?”

Tapper’s facial expression as he re-reads Biden’s remarks is better seen than explained.

“That sounds like it should reassure upset Democrats,” Tapper replied, adding, “Many Democrats [he’s] “Some are concerned that President Biden and his family and aides appear to be in complete denial not only about whether there is anything wrong with him, but also about the current status of his candidacy.”

Tapper then played another clip from Biden’s damage-control interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, in which Biden tried to explain his poor debate performance but ended up only making it worse.

When asked if he had watched the debate video, Biden responded with his usual bewildered expression: “I don’t think I’ve seen it.”

“He doesn’t think so?” Tupper asked, confused.

But perhaps Biden’s worst post-debate move was when he “called several black radio stations.”

In an interview, he said, “By the way, as I said, I’m proud to be the first vice president, the first black woman, working with a black president, the first black woman on the Supreme Court. And there’s so much we can do together. Because there’s nothing. Look, this is the United States of America.”

“Is he proud to be the first black woman?” Tapper asked, adding that his responses were “inconsistent.”

But things get even worse.

“We then learned from the radio host that the Biden campaign had given her a list of questions to ask President Biden, something you should never do in journalism,” Tapper reported. “It’s very telling that the Biden campaign felt it was necessary to give the host questions for a phone-in radio interview to show the president hadn’t put a foot wrong, and yet the president still couldn’t answer many of them.”

But CNN’s anchor said Biden’s biggest gaffe came when George Stephanopoulos asked him how he would feel if he ultimately lost to Donald Trump.
