In Dave Rubin’s words, when an “asexual white weirdo” appeared on Jerry Seinfeld’s show, he was a “comedian who gets in his car and drinks coffee” on the host’s other talk show. He immediately pointed out the excess of “white men.” ”
But all it took was 30 seconds and a few clever sentences for Jerry to surpass BuzzFeed interviewer Peter Lauria.
“I’ve noticed that most of the guests are white men. Out of 22 episodes…” Lauria begins before Jerry interrupts.
“Okay, let’s come in. that” Seinfeld interjected, and the audience burst into laughter.
“Look here, Peter,” he continued, gesturing to the audience. “What do you see? So much white!”
“But I…” Peter resumed, but was cut off again.
“Oh, this is really upsetting. People think it’s the census or something. Does this represent an actual pie chart of America? Who cares?” Jerry shot back. did. “It’s just interesting. The world I live in is interesting. You’re interesting, I’m interested. You’re not interesting, I’m not interested.”
“I don’t care about gender or race or anything like that, but everyone else [is] Calculating: Is this exactly the right mix? …For me, it’s anti-comedy,” he concluded.
Although the conversation was mostly hilarious and comical, Jerry makes a great point about the complete rejection of meritocracy in our society.
“Jerry’s answer is absolutely correct,” says Dave. “And we’ve seen wokeness destroy comedy. That’s why there are so few funny movies and funny TV shows anymore.”
