Vice President Harris rallied voters in a Detroit suburb Friday night, ending this week's battle in the “Blue Wall” battleground state.
With 18 days until Election Day, Harris is making a similar appeal to rural and suburban voters in key battleground states. Former President Trump won the Great Lakes state in the 2016 election, but President Biden, who withdrew from the 2024 election in July, handed the Democratic Party victory in 2020.
Harris spent time early Friday in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the state capital, Lansing.
Trump also held a campaign event in Detroit on Friday, a week after criticizing the city.
Hill/Decision Desk Headquarters polling indicators show candidates from both parties in close races in key battleground states. Mr. Trump has a slight advantage in approval ratings, at 48.8% compared to the vice president's 48.1%.
Her comments from Oakland Hills, Michigan are scheduled to begin at 8:10 p.m. EDT.
