Watch live: Trump in Michigan gives remarks on economy, manufacturing

Former President Trump is scheduled to speak in Michigan on Thursday about the economy, inflation and manufacturing, with just 68 days left until the November election.

The campaign stop in Potterville, just south of Michigan's state capital of Lansing, marks Trump's third visit to Michigan in the past nine days, including a speech to the National Guard Association in Detroit on Monday.

The former president won Eaton County, which includes part of Lansing, in 2016 and narrowly defeated President Biden in 2020. Biden was trailing Trump by 2.6 percentage points in the state before announcing he was dropping out of the race.

Vice President Harris, the Democratic nominee, leads the former president in the state by more than four points, with her approval rating at 49.2 percent, well ahead of the Republican presidential candidate at 44.8 percent, according to the Hill/Decision Desk Poll Index.

Both campaigns have been touring battleground states, including Michigan, to lay out their policy ambitions ahead of the election.

The event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 pm EDT.
