Watch live: Trump rallies voters in Colorado city he called 'war zone'

Former President Trump is campaigning in Aurora, Colorado, on a Friday afternoon campaign stop, just weeks after he said the city was becoming a “war zone.”

The campaign restated this claim in a press release. Event announcement Earlier this week, President Trump was quoted as saying that violent Venezuelan prison gang members from Torren de Aragua were flowing into the region.

The former president has a history of attacking suburban Denver. During a presidential debate with Vice President Harris last month, President Trump brought up conspiracy theories about gang activity in the city. During his campaign, he also attacked Colorado Gov. Jared Polis (Democratic).

President Trump lost the Centennial State to President Biden in 2020, and President Biden won with over 55% of the vote. Before withdrawing from the 2024 race, Biden had a nearly 10-point lead over the former president, according to Hill/Decision Desk's polling index.

His remarks are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. EDT.
