Vice presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) is holding a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday night, the day before early voting begins in the Tar Heel State.
Vance is expected to encourage voters in key battleground states to vote by mail and vote early. According to the campaign. The move comes after Hurricane Helen pummeled the southeastern United States late last month, threatening to disrupt voting in the state.
Americans are more eager to vote on Election Day than they were four years ago, but partisan divides remain deep, according to an NBC News poll. Vice President Harris has a 17 point lead among voters planning to vote by November 5th.
Former President Donald Trump has a narrow lead over Harris in North Carolina, 48.9% to 47.5%, according to Hill/Decision Desk's polling index.
