This afternoon, right after the annual Poptarts Bowl, another charming pastry-themed mascot will meet its end, but first, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets will take on BYU at Camping World Stadium.
Ranked 12th, BYU, despite an impressive 11-2 season, couldn’t secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. They suffered a significant setback with a 34-7 loss to Texas Tech in the Big 12 Championship Game, which, along with an earlier defeat to the same team, effectively dashed their playoff hopes. Instead, they will participate in a rather tongue-in-cheek event dubbed the “People’s National Championship.”
On the other side, Georgia Tech finished their regular season at 22nd in the rankings with a solid 9-3 record, placing them second in the ACC, although they didn’t make it to the conference title match.
