Following a controversial opener, the Yankees are gearing up for Game 2 of the American League Division Series this afternoon.
In yesterday’s matchup, the Toronto Blue Jays secured their first playoff win since 2016, handing the Yankees a significant 10-1 loss.
The Blue Jays took a 2-1 lead in the seventh, capitalizing on the Yankees’ bullpen, which faltered and gave up eight runs across two innings. A walk by Cody Bellinger in the sixth, with the bases loaded, didn’t help the Yankees’ cause as they fell to defeat.
The ALDS is a best-of-five series, meaning today’s game could either bring the Blue Jays one win away from the AL Championship Series or extend the series with a Yankees win, guaranteeing at least a Game 4.
