There’s a new champion in the Little League World Series.
After regional championships yesterday that crowned both US and international winners, Las Vegas and Taipei from China are set to compete for the title today.
This marks the second consecutive year that the Taipei team has reached the final, making it through their game against Alba with a narrow 1-0 victory.
On the other hand, the Summerlin South Little League team from Las Vegas secured their spot in the finals with an 8-2 win over Fairfield National from Connecticut. This victory is particularly sweet, as it’s a rematch from an earlier tournament where Las Vegas lost 7-3. If they win today, they would be the first team from Nevada to ever secure the Little League World Series title.
Here are the details for the championship:
- Teams: Taipei (Asia-Pacific) vs. Las Vegas (Mountains)
- Date: August 24th; Time: 3 PM (International Championship)
- Location: Little League International Complex, Williamsport, Pennsylvania
- TV: ABC
