The Washington Commanders will be missing their starting quarterback as they wrap up Week 8 against Kansas City on Monday Night Football.
Jaden Daniels, who had already missed two games earlier this season due to a knee injury, is sidelined again, this time with a hamstring injury sustained in last week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Marcus Mariota is set to start in his third game tonight. In his earlier outings, he has posted a 1-1 record, completing 60.3% of his passes for a total of 426 yards, with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He’ll have support from Terry McLoughlin and Deebo Samuel, both returning from injuries.
The Commanders are up against a Chiefs team that seems to be regaining its stride, having made a comeback after an initial 0-2 start to the season. Kansas City has won three of their last four games, most recently shutting out the Raiders 31-0 in Week 7.
