Determined to become the first team in 25 years to successfully defend their championship, the Dodgers reached this point by eliminating the Phillies in four games at the National Stadium. Meanwhile, the Brewers secured their spot by defeating the Chicago Cubs 3-1 in Game 5 of the NLDS.
Interestingly, the Brewers had a flawless record against the Dodgers this season, winning all six games in their two series, joining only two other teams in MLB history to achieve such a feat against the Dodgers.
