Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s Update on Iran
Secretary of State Marco Rubio reiterated the Trump administration’s position on FNC’s “Hannity” regarding the near completion of U.S. military operations against Iran.
Sean Hannity, the host, remarked that the situation seemed inevitable, suggesting Iran would cling to what they saw as their “unalienable rights,” regardless of the pressure they’d faced.
Rubio described this as one of several turning points, highlighting Iran’s longstanding aggressive behavior over the past 47 years. He emphasized that his comments about Iran do not reflect the views of the Iranian people, who largely oppose their government.
The regime itself, led by radical Shiite clerics, operates with a fervent belief in their apocalyptic mission. Rubio stated that leaders of this regime are pursuing nuclear weapons as a critical goal.
Evidence of this ambition is apparent, with Iran allegedly gathering materials necessary for nuclear arms and developing long-range missiles that could reach both Europe and the U.S. He mentioned a recent demonstration of two missiles, despite their claims of not possessing such technology.
Rubio also noted their uranium enrichment efforts, which have reached 60 percent purity, and how quickly they could advance to the percentage needed for a bomb. Their push for enrichment, he argued, is part of larger terrorist sponsorship efforts globally.
Rubio affirmed that Iran will never be permitted to acquire nuclear weapons, a stance President Trump has consistently upheld since his candidacy and throughout his presidency. Rubio expressed his commitment to countering any Iranian threats to both current and future generations.
With a defined strategy, he outlined the objectives: the destruction of Iran’s air force—largely accomplished; the near destruction of their navy; significant degradation of missile launchers; and dismantling of their defense industry manufacturing capabilities.
These efforts are all aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons undetected. Rubio expressed confidence that military progress is on track, with the finish line clearly in sight. While he acknowledged that the final victory might not be immediate, he remains optimistic.
The mission has been executed with remarkable efficiency, and he believes it will be regarded as a significant tactical success in modern military history.
