US trade representative Jamieson Greer said on Monday’s Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle” broadcast, which requires tariff research on products, including semiconductors.
asked host Laura Ingraham. [relevant exchange begins around 3:45] “Well, I was a bit confused with people over the weekend, but when the president shows that he has a reprieve, Lutonic and Peter Navarro come on TV yesterday and say the president won’t let some of the tariffs on these tech companies go back. With that in mind, how can things settle if it’s constantly changing every day?”
Greer said, “Well, remember that what happened here over the weekend was that we saw these types of products, including semiconductors, smartphones, laptops, etc. We moved from one bucket to another. There is no interest in the tariff programme in the fundamental changes or re-irradiation of these supply chains. What I explained is that we want to make sure we get the right answer, whether it’s medicines, semiconductors or metals, in these sensitive and important supply chains.”
