Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs (D) spoke about concerns at the border, including the possibility that President Joe Biden would block people from entering the country, in an interview with CNN that aired on “Newsnight” on Friday. He responded to a question about reports that he was considering stricter administrative measures. She said she hopes Congress passes the Senate bill and that administrations of both parties take no action on border issues, but her state needs some action from the Biden administration on border issues. We will restore sanity and end illegal activity at our borders.”
host Abbey Phillippe asked. Hobbs, as a border state governor, you sent the National Guard to the border. Is that what you’re looking for when you hear that President Biden may block asylum claims from people who cross the border illegally to reduce the influx? ”
Hobbes replied: And we’re dealing with decades of inaction from both Republican and Democratic administrations, and now we’re certainly dealing with a Congress that refused to pass this bipartisan bill that was introduced. Americans want sanity and an end to illegal activity at the border. ”
