On Monday's broadcast of MSNBC's “Too Soon,” Rep. Jonathan Jackson (D-Ill.) said the incoming Trump administration's agenda is “about efficiency, slash-and-burn, and fear,” adding, “I don't know when. I wondered if I would be able to hear that opinion.” When will we hear words of compassion and uplifting people? That's not on the agenda. ”
jackson said [relevant remarks begin around 30:35] Members of the Trump administration said, “It's going to be very difficult, and you'll see that there's a big difference between building cars and rockets and building people.” And we will continue to focus on human resource development. Money is being put into the EPA to clean up all service lines in the United States, and Chicago's South Side leads the nation in service lines, with 100 cities having this problem. Therefore, we remain committed to protecting, defending, and accumulating civil rights. What about all this stuff about efficiency, slash-and-burn, fear? When do we hear the words caring for people, when do we hear the words uplifting people? That's not the agenda. You can't run a government the same way you run a business. ”
