CNN host Jake Tapper said Thursday on “The Read” that America will love measles in response to President-elect Donald Trump's nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as Secretary of Health and Human Services. He quipped that he was looking forward to it.
Mr. Tapper asked, “Representative Kinzinger, is your expectation that everyone will be approved, or do you think there's a chance that some Republicans will actually stand up?”
“I would actually be surprised if Gaetz was confirmed,” political commentator Adam Kinzinger said. That's why I was surprised that he resigned from the House of Representatives. He's going to be a commentator on Fox News or something, because he doesn't have anything to fall back on. I expect there will be resistance to him. The rest I don't know. Maybe RFK Jr. Here's the problem. The many well-meaning Senate Republicans, especially those who voted to remove Donald Trump from office? It's a whole different ballgame now because they're up for re-election. Will they resist RFK on vaccines? I don't know. But I certainly think Gates probably has the hardest hill to climb. ”
“Democrats can start coming up with their own alternative, forward-looking vision,” said Kate Bedingfield, former Biden communications director. It's never too early to start. ”
“America, I hope you like measles,” Tapper said.
