Well-known yogurt recalled due to potential presence of sharp plastic fragments

A number of popular yogurt brands are recalling several varieties due to concerns over the potential presence of sharp plastic pieces, which could pose a choking hazard, as indicated in alerts from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Danone US is recalling Yocrunch products in various flavors and sizes sold at retail locations throughout the country. Reports from consumers mentioned finding pieces of plastic in the “dome toppers,” which are separate compartments for yogurt toppings. It’s important to note that only the packaged toppers are affected, not the yogurt itself.

The FDA’s alert highlights that the plastic pieces are clear, have sharp edges, and can range from 7 to 25 mm in length, representing a risk to those who consume them. Danone is coordinating swiftly with retailers to remove these products from store shelves and is working on resolving the issue to restore the Yocrunch products that many enjoy.
