We'll Turn TN into the 'Most Conservative State in the Nation'

Sen. Marsha Blackburn Aims for Conservative Leadership in Tennessee

During a recent debate, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) expressed her goal to make Tennessee “the most conservative state in the country.” This statement came as she formally announced her gubernatorial campaign, which began in August.

In a conversation with Tennessee-based host Mike Slater, the topic of how Americans can support her campaign arose. Blackburn suggested visiting her website, marshablackburn.com, emphasizing her belief that she would be a “great” leader for the state.

“You can find me online at marshablackburn.com and join me. I will be a great governor of Tennessee. We will be the most conservative state in the country,” she stated, crediting President Donald Trump for empowering states to exert their own authority.

Blackburn remarked that now is an opportune moment for states to capitalize on this change.

“As you know, Mike, President Trump is actively returning power to the states, whether it’s concerning regulations, benefits, health care, education, energy, or jobs. I see this as a prime chance to reshape state governance,” she elaborated.

She continued, “Conservatives have been pointing out for years that there’s a need to reset a lot of state-level issues. ‘Washington doesn’t need to be involved in this or that,’ and President Trump is facilitating that shift,” she added.

Blackburn emphasized the importance of exercising federalism and resetting the state’s approach, stating that Tennessee aims to be a leader in conservative values. Host Mike Slater also noted his enthusiasm for states competing to assert their conservatism.

“I really love the idea of competition among states to see who can be the most conservative, and Tennessee should aim to be at the forefront. However, we also saw Aftin Behn almost win a Congressional election in Tennessee, indicating that we still have a blue city,” he pointed out, referencing a recent Congressional race.

The senator concluded, “The more we showcase how effective solid conservative principles can be in enhancing the lives of our residents, the more support we’ll garner for these policies.”
