Wendy Williams and Her Guardian’s Tenuous Relationship

It appears that Wendy Williams and her guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, aren’t likely to become friends anytime soon.

Sources indicate that Williams is feeling uneasy, especially after reports surfaced from Dr. Samuel Gandy, a prominent neurologist at Mount Sinai, confirming that she is dealing with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia. Williams seems to believe that Morrissey may be acting out of spite.

Mount Sinai has not disclosed whether Williams is a patient of Dr. Gandy, citing HIPAA regulations.

Earlier this week, Williams had organized a dinner to celebrate what she hoped would be positive health news.

However, she “couldn’t reach her bodyguard, and she suspects that Sabrina fired him,” a source relayed.

Williams is unable to leave her upscale residence, which is situated on the floor of a memory care unit, without the presence of a bodyguard or unless her niece, Alex Finney, comes to visit from Miami.

“She can’t go anywhere without Sabrina’s permission, and that’s definitely an issue,” the source added.

Despite rumors about the bodyguard being let go, it seems that Williams’ estate continues to cover those expenses. Apparently, Morrissey has history with letting bodyguards go, leading to tension over control and communication.

The dinner was in the works for two weeks, with hopes that Williams’ friends would gather to celebrate her iconic “How You Doin?” catchphrase.

I heard that comedian Runel and former producer Suzanne Bass were particularly excited about surprising her at Max Tucci’s restaurant in NoHo, New York.

Ultimately, though, the dinner occurred without Williams. Still, Runel managed to connect with her via phone. “I was going to kiss you and hold your hand and do all the things you didn’t want me to do,” he playfully remarked during their chat.

It was clear he was thinking of her wellbeing, saying, “I’m praying for the Queen.” Williams expressed her desire to introduce him on a future date in Las Vegas once she’s out of conservatorship.

One source mentioned, “It was a fun reunion, but meeting in person would have been far better.”

Friends have noted that Williams’ recent outings, like attending a wedding in Connecticut, seem to have upset Morrissey, who has earned a less-than-flattering nickname among her circle.

When reached for comment, Williams’ attorney, Joe Tacopina, refrained from addressing the specific situation involving Morrissey and the bodyguard. However, he expressed concern that “Wendy is not protected.”

He believes the guardianship, intended for her safety, has morphed into a form of control that stifles her voice and autonomy, emphasizing that “no guardianship should feel like a punishment.”

I haven’t heard back from Morrissey yet.
