On Friday's broadcast of “CNN This Morning,” Rep. Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) said: If you disagree 100% with our arbitrary views on a particular issue, you're not only wrong, you're a bad person. I think that's the attitude that many American voters are hearing, or that they perceive, from the Democratic Party. we have to change that. ”
Moulton said Republicans have “launched a vicious attack against transgender people.” We are a party that wants to protect these people. We are the party that stands up for minorities across America when they are attacked by the Republican Party. And yet we can't even engage in debates about policies that we can win, policies that can actually persuade the American people to support our position…just to win this debate. but. ”
Moulton then said, “There are some issues where we need better policy, such as the economy. Our policies will lower inflation. President Trump will raise inflation with tax cuts for billionaires and massive tariffs.'' Yet, American voters trust Republicans more on the economy. So we need to understand why American voters fundamentally don't trust us. I think it's because our job is to preach rather than listen. We're a very arrogant party. If you don't agree 100% with our dogmatic views on a particular issue, you're right. Not only is it wrong, but it's a bad person. I think that's the attitude that many American voters are hearing, or that they perceive, from the Democratic Party. ”
Moulton added that Democratic leadership understands the issue.
Later, in response to a question about whether Democrats needed to change their messaging or policies, Moulton said that while he was not an expert on transgender issues, it was up for debate whether they needed to change their policies. said that it should be done.
