Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has expressed criticism of what she describes as “fake” supporters of the “America First” movement. In her view, these individuals are eagerly pushing for the U.S. to intervene in another regime change conflict in the Middle East, which she finds troubling.

Her comments reflect a growing division within the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement. This division arises from the fundamental premise of the movement—rejecting the foreign interventionism associated with past neo-conservative policies, particularly those that shaped former President George W. Bush’s foreign strategy.

“Everyone is finding out who the real America First/MAGA supporters are and who were just pretending because it was trendy. Sadly, the list of those masquerading has quickly lengthened and become apparent,” she said.

“Anyone who is eager for the U.S. to be fully entrenched in the Israel-Iran conflict isn’t truly America First/MAGA. Hoping for the murder of innocent lives is abhorrent. We are fed up with foreign wars—every single one of them,” Greene shared. “This situation will rapidly escalate throughout the Middle East, affecting BRICS and NATO as nations must take sides.”

“True America First/MAGA advocates want global peace for everyone and don’t want to see our military personnel harmed or left with lasting physical and psychological injuries. We cherish our military and prefer they protect our borders and cities for the benefit of OUR PEOPLE AND OUR COUNTRY,” she added.

Greene also remarked on the unfortunate impact of past wars in the Middle East, particularly the challenges faced by returning American soldiers, alongside the significant national debt affecting the country.

“We’ve squandereed trillions in the Middle East, leaving in our wake death, disfigurement, an alarming rate of suicides, and enduring PTSD. All because we were fed propaganda about needing to sacrifice ourselves for the sake of another nation’s borders,” she stated.

A 2021 study from Brown University’s Cost of War Project indicated that 30,177 active-duty U.S. military members and veterans of the post-9/11 conflicts have taken their own lives, a figure far exceeding the reported 7,057 service members lost during those same wars.

“I don’t want to witness bombing in Israel, Iran, Gaza, Ukraine, or Russia. Moreover, we should NOT be drawn into or financially responsible for ANY OF IT! We are over $36 trillion in debt and face numerous challenges at home. We have serious issues of our own while we criticize minor concerns elsewhere,” Greene continued.

“Adopting this stance is NOT antisemitic. It’s reasonable, balanced, and compassionate toward all individuals. This approach to peace is not isolationist but can lead to advantageous trade agreements and prosperous economies benefiting EVERYONE,” she concluded.

Her comments came after Israel conducted “preemptive” strikes targeting Iranian military leaders and nuclear installations, asserting that such actions were necessary to prevent an imminent nuclear threat.

“Netanyahu referenced the darkest moments of Jewish history, insisting that Israel would never accept vulnerability to a ‘nuclear holocaust’,” reported The Guardian.

Iran has also been accused of plotting an assassination against Trump. In November 2024, the Justice Department disclosed charges linked to a scheme to eliminate him prior to the presidential election, as outlined by NPR.

In retaliation, Iran has launched a series of ballistic missile attacks, overwhelming Israel’s defense systems and targeting various locations. As the conflict escalates, Israeli leaders have reportedly called on the U.S. for support against Iran.

Meanwhile, former President Trump has consistently urged both nations to pursue diplomacy.

“We will achieve PEACE soon between Israel and Iran! Many discussions and meetings are currently underway,” Trump remarked in a post on Truth Social. “LET’S MAKE THE MIDDLE EAST GREAT AGAIN!”
