In a segment of an interview with NBC4 host David Ashery scheduled to air on Sunday’s broadcast of NBC’s New York affiliate The Debrief, which was released on Friday, NYPD Sergeant John Chell said: “Crime is on the rise,” he said.immigration crime [are] Snatchings on mopeds, pickpockets on transport and on the streets, and “mob-like” behavior in some retail stores have all taken a toll on our cities. “We’re trying to put a lid on it because these trends are starting to grow and they’re increasing crime for everyday New Yorkers.”
“Well, we’re seeing an uptick in immigrant crime right now,” Chell said. [are] It’s hurting our city a little bit. When we talk about trends, we talk about crimes committed on mopeds, such as purse snatching, robbery, pickpocketing on trains, and pickpocketing on the street. We’re seeing mob-like activity when it comes to Macy’s and Sunglass Hut. So we’re trying to put a lid on that because these trends are starting to grow and they’re increasing crime for everyday New Yorkers. ”
