In Aurora, Colorado, a woman who runs a store next to apartment buildings taken over by Venezuelan gangs said she had been forced to install bulletproof glass to protect her store, and spoke of the chaos caused by immigrants in her community. Breitbart News Daily Hosted by Mike Slater.
“It's a terrible situation. Mike, I run a business right next to those apartments,” she said, describing the current situation as “overwhelming.”
“It's out of control. Denver is really a sanctuary city. They're just forcing them into our little communities. They're bringing them here by bus. They're bringing them to our little communities by bus and their hotels are full up here. And it's just chaos, chaos,” said the caller, who identified herself as Pam, explaining that she's run a gas station for 10 years.
Before the migrant crisis, she described the area as somewhere in between – not the best but not the worst either.
“You know, it was a pretty quiet area. We've had some issues. We've had shoplifters and it's just started to increase and they just go in and steal stuff and run. Since this started we've had to put bulletproof glass in the store,” she said.

“The situation is getting worse and worse. We can't open late at night. We had a problem not long ago when most of the shops on the street had to close. I think the night of the elections in Venezuela, everything was closed,” she said, explaining that she couldn't even get into her car.
“We had no choice but to close our shop,” she said, describing the conditions as “chaos” as migrants piled into car parks and onto the streets, unable to move.
Pam also said there were many times when she would “load a rack full of stuff, run in and grab it and run off.”
“We've been robbed a few times,” she said, pointing out that there is a car wash where migrants break in and stay overnight.
“Like I said, it's total chaos. There's no help coming from anywhere. And our governor is just denying that this is happening,” she said of Colorado's Democratic governor, Jared Polis, who has denied there's a problem.
“I would invite him to stay the night in this apartment, but I don't think he will. In fact, I don't think he will. Like I said, we are hopeful that change will come in November. I would like to see Colorado become a Republican state again. This is a beautiful state. It's sad what's happening here,” she said, emphasizing that she remains hopeful for November.
“You know, change is coming, and we're looking forward to it. In the meantime, we'll continue to move forward every day, because you know who's going to buy the businesses in this area,” she added.
