WH Criticizes Left Media for Overlooking Savage Charlotte Train Stabbing

Press Conference on Irina Zalzka’s Murder

Washington White House spokesman Caroline Leavitt has criticized the media for its inadequate coverage of the shocking murder of Irina Zalzka in Charlotte, North Carolina.

During a press conference on Tuesday, Leavitt expressed her frustration, highlighting the media’s choice to overlook the gruesome details of Zalzka’s death, which involved unprovoked stab wounds.

“It’s embarrassing that many media outlets in this room consider her murder unworthy of coverage, perhaps because it doesn’t fit their preferred narrative,” Leavitt stated.

She also pointed out that while reporters spent ample time criticizing individuals like Daniel Penny regarding subway safety, they have largely ignored the stories about actual criminals like Zalzka’s murderer.

Leavitt noted that the suspect, Brown Jr., has a troubling criminal history, having faced at least 14 charges since 2011, such as armed robbery and felony theft. Despite this, a liberal judge released him without bail earlier this year after his arrest.

“He was simply asked to sign a promise to return for a court hearing. Think about that—it’s absurd to expect someone with such a criminal background to comply,” Leavitt remarked. “This situation is just crazy.”

“This monster should have been behind bars, and Irina should still be here today. But it seems that some politicians and judges prioritize virtue signaling over actually keeping our communities safe,” she added.

Leavitt also referenced former Governor Roy Cooper’s establishment of the “Task Force for Racial Equity and Criminal Justice” in 2020, mentioning that current Governor Josh Stein co-authored it and advocated for alternative approaches to criminal justice, such as eliminating cash bail.

“The focus has shifted towards ‘repairing justice’ rather than punishing crime,” she noted.

Zalzka, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee, had fled her war-torn homeland for safety in the U.S. Tragically, she was brutally stabbed upon returning from her job at a pizzeria late last month.

Leavitt remarked that, ironically, using public transport in major American cities has become more dangerous than the war zone Zalzka escaped from.
