White House Launches Weekly Critique of Media
The White House has introduced a new section on its official website that aims to highlight what it describes as the “media criminals” responsible for spreading fake news.
“Misleading, biased, exposed.” Website Read.
This week, the three media outlets identified as “criminals” are CBS News, an independent person, and the Boston Globe.
Under a section labeled “Attack,” the page states: “The media falsely reported that President Trump called for the ‘execution’ of members of Congress responsible for inciting the recent unrest.”
The White House categorized the reported violations as “misrepresentation” and “omitting context.”
According to them, the reality was, “Democrats and the fake news media implied that President Trump issued illegal orders to military personnel. All orders from President Trump were lawful. It’s a concern when members of Congress suggest that military personnel disobey lawful commands, and President Trump believes they should be held accountable.”
Earlier this month, a group of Democratic lawmakers released a social media video urging military personnel to disobey “unlawful orders.” While they didn’t specify which orders should be rescinded, it did lead to the Trump administration’s military action against drug trafficking ships in the Caribbean, straining relations further with Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
This group, referred to as the “Seditious Six,” comprises Senators Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), along with Representatives Jason Crow (D-Colorado), Chris Deluzio (D-Pennsylvania), Maggie Goodlander (D-Hawaii), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.). They claimed to have the standing to address military officials, referencing their past roles in the CIA, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, and Naval Reserve.
In response, President Trump took to Truth Social, asserting that sedition should “deserve the death penalty!”
Additionally, the Department of Defense announced an investigation into Senator Kelly, who might risk court-martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ).
The White House reiterated that “President Trump never issued illegal orders.” They contended that “Fake News was aware of this but chose to report otherwise.”
The new web page also showcases a “Criminal Hall of Shame,” spotlighting outlets like The Washington Post, CBS News, CNN, and MSNBC; currently, MS Now holds the title. There’s also a section for “Repeat Offenders,” indicating that these organizations consistently get it wrong.
