Newly released police body camera footage shows a deranged driver repeatedly crashing his Mercedes-Benz into a Massachusetts State Police vehicle, narrowly missing the officer.
Jeff Jossa, 29, was charged with multiple counts of assault on a police officer in Weymouth after a violent confrontation on September 22, which was recorded on video released by police last week. According to WFXT-TV News.
“Hey, calm down!” one officer can be heard yelling. “You almost hit me with your car, dude.”
“Hey,” another officer can be heard shouting. “Hey, hey! Please get out of the car.”
Weymouth Police were called to the scene at around 4:30pm on the day of the incident after receiving a report of a man acting strangely at a local laundromat. He spoke quickly, was somewhat logical, and was sweating profusely.'' Reported.
Police called an ambulance to the scene, but as officers pointed their guns at him and yelled for him to stop, Josa jumped behind the wheel of the Mercedes and crashed into a police car in the parking lot.
He eventually pulled his car out of the lot, onto the driveway and took off.
But it didn't take long to catch up with him. The Benz crashed into a tree line on Route 3.
In court, Josa was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, aggravated damage to a motor vehicle, failure to stop, reckless driving, leaving the scene of property damage and resisting, with his head bowed and speaking to himself. Ta. Arrested.
A judge ordered him held without bail.
