CNN host Brianna Keillor asked New York Democratic Congressman Dan Goldman on Monday what he thought of President Joe Biden's past reassurances that he would not pardon his son Hunter Biden. Ta.

Mr. Biden announced the pardon as follows: statement On Sunday night, the White House released this statement, alleging that Hunter had been “singled out” while claiming that “political opponents” were trying to “ruin” both him and his son in court. “How does it feel to look at yourself at the time when you were reassuring people that Biden was not going to pardon his son?” Keillor said, “I didn't think there was a chance that Biden would pardon his son.” asked Mr. Goldman.

“I don't think there would have been a pardon if that plea deal and that plea deal had been made. It was a satisfying outcome,” Goldman said, prompting Keillor to press him about the timeline.

“I hear what you’re saying about Kash Patel’s appointment, and I know you took him at his word, but how does it feel to know that he broke his word? asked Kaylor.

“Well, as I said, once the petition failed and it became clear why it happened, including the Republican intervention in Congress in this case, we realized that this case is very unique and different from other cases. I'm disappointed that it turned out to be so different. I think we all should have been very aware that this was not a normal prosecution,” Goldman said. “I've said it many times, if Hunter Biden wasn't Hunter Biden, he would never be indicted for these crimes and what Donald Trump is doing with the Justice Department and the FBI. And as we begin to see how much crime Hunter Biden will be charged with, Mr. Biden has already been shamefully attacked as a private citizen by Republicans, which is why he felt the president should not continue this miscarriage of justice and risk retaliatory prosecution for political reasons. While certainly understandable, this is not the appropriate way to carry out our rule of law.”

A Delaware jury in June convicted Hunter Biden of three felony firearms charges related to the 2018 purchase of a Colt .38 caliber revolver. President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview with Hugh Hewitt on October 24 that he was open to pardoning Hunter Biden.
