Rumor has it that Americans across the country will feel the effects of the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridges in Baltimore for quite some time. Officials have argued that rebuilding the bridge will take years, and that “the Port of Baltimore provides more than 15,300 jobs” and “over 140,000 jobs.” It would also have a dire impact on employment. [are] Related to port activities. ”
For those who don’t know, the Port of Baltimore is the United States’ “major import/export hub for cars and trucks,” so Americans waiting for their cars to arrive from overseas are often greeted by rude people when it’s time for delivery. You will experience an awakening. expected to increase exponentially.
But it’s not just the auto industry that will be affected. Last year alone, a “record 52.3 million tons of foreign cargo” was shipped through the Port of Baltimore, but the port is now completely closed after a bridge collapse cut off the only shipping route.
“This collapse will have a significant impact on East Coast shipping and transportation routes for some time to come,” a shipping industry property damage expert told the New York Post.
While many people will hear these reports and worry about what this means for the country, all Glenn Beck is hearing is a bunch of unnecessary doomsaying.
“Have we forgotten who we are? Have we forgotten what we have done?” he asked, “strong enough to climb the towering mountains.” It calls attention to the “vibrant” American spirit.
America has built “amazing engineering” and “sky-shattering buildings,” he exhorts.
In 1930, “The Great Depression gripped us like an ice. It was a time when everyone felt the flicker of a candle in the vast darkness…Yet Americans remained in this melting pot of adversity. “The Empire State Building rose. It wasn’t just a structure of steel and stone. It was a beacon of hope and American resilience and ingenuity,” Glenn says.
“In a record-breaking year and 45 days, an army of workers…turned this bold vision into a towering reality.”
So what does the Empire State Building, a marvel built at a “breakneck pace” and “defying the laws of time physics,” have to do with Baltimore’s bridges?
According to Glenn, everything.
The Empire State Building and other man-made wonders “are not just footnotes in history. They are burning torches that light our path. They remind us that in the face of adversity, we don’t just endure. We will overcome it. We will not wait for history to determine our course. With the sweat of our brow and the strength of our backs, we will overcome this. I’m writing a piece,” he says.
“it is who are we? ”
